Easy Onsets app for iPhone and iPad

Fonate Easy Onsets is a tool for the treatment of stuttering.

Easy Onset refers to the slow, gentle onset of voicing at the beginning of a word. Many people who stutter rush the onset of voicing, which stops airflow and locks the vocal folds, resulting in a block.

Using an easy onset at the beginning of a word will help air flow through the vocal folds, which in turn helps the vocal folds to begin vibrating gently as you begin speaking. This may result in smoother, more fluent speech.

Fonate Easy Onsets is the first app to automate Easy Onsets therapy by prompting the user to start speaking when a breath is detected.
